Read John 6:25-35
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
~~ John 6:35~~~
My parents were great people, but when I was young they weren’t Christians. They hadn’t been raised in Christian homes, and they had a lot of questions. Even so, my mother found a place to have me baptized, and my brother and I were taken regularly to Sunday school.
Mom later came to Christ after becoming acquainted with Eileen, who shared her love of music and literature and whose life was grounded in the Lord. Dad found his way to faith through early-morning coffee meetings with my caring pastor, who helped my father confront his faith issues. Reverend Zuhl and Eileen helped bring my family to unity in Christ.
My mother eventually told me that her morning prayer always includes, “Lord put me in a place of need today.” And God has seldom disappointed her. Opportunities for ministry found her wherever she was. Reverend Zuhl and Eileen brought the bread of life to my spiritually hungry family. They gave us a priceless gift that we can share with others—the joyful gift of God’s love. With whom may I share Christ’s life-giving bread today?

Dear Lord, make us aware of those around us who need to know Christ. May the joy we find in following you bring light to someone else today. In Jesus’ name. Amen
Jesus is coming! Are you ready?
