Read 2 Corinthians 9:8-15
[The Lord’s] divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
~2 Peter 1:3~
As I dropped off my daughter at the nursery before Bible study, I chatted with an acquaintance about having to find childcare so I could attend the group’s upcoming special luncheon. The acquaintance replied that a friend of hers also needed childcare for a different event. I offered my phone number for her friend, saying that I could probably help. My acquaintance grabbed my hand, “She had been praying to find a way to attend the event, and maybe you are her answer.”
At the Bible study, I mentioned casually that my husband was on an extended job three time zones away from home. A woman responded that she knew someone whose husband was in the same situation and traveling to the same location. After giving her my phone number, I received an emotional call from the woman, who said, “I have been praying that my husband would find a Christian friend in that city.” I was so excited to think that our husbands would be able to encourage each other in a faraway place.
Usually I’m focused on the way God might answer my prayers. Now I understand that I can be God’s answer to help or encourage someone else.
I will be ready and alert so that I can act when God needs me.

Dear God, help us to be sensitive to the needs of others so that we can serve as your answers to the prayers of those around us. Amen
Jesus is coming soon! Are you ready?
